It’s Our World

Words and Music by Steven Andrew Kacsmar (c) 2003

Take a look around you now, tell me what you see
Well the way that we are living well it sure seems sad to me
Especially when you think about the way that things could be
Come one let’s get together and create some harmony

It’s our world, and life is what you make it
I can’t figure out just what we think we’re doing
The world is a web of life and we’re just about to break it
Wake up, can’t you smell the coffee brewing!

We’ve got enough bombs to destroy the world a thousand times or more
I wish somebody could tell me just what all those bombs are for
Now war is hell just ask any mother who’s sent her son to die
We may not know how to live in peace, but it’s damn sure time we try

It’s our world, and life is what you make it
I can’t figure out just what we think we’re doing
The world is a web of life and we’re just about to break it
Wake up, can’t you smell the coffee brewing!

It seems no matter how things change the more they stay the same
Gonna tell the men in charge, I won’t play their game.

Now CNN is showing me the crisis that we’re in
While the infomercial is selling me a pill to make me thin
There’s people out there starving, and I think that’s a sin
But people we can change all that and it’s time now to begin

It’s our world, and life is what you make it
I can’t figure out just who they think they’re fooling
The world is a web of life and we’re just about to break it
Wake up, can’t you smell the coffee brewing!

It seems no matter how things change the more they stay the same.
Time to tell the men in charge, not in our name!
